Partnership with Communities in Schools Federal Way- Highline

Essentials First partnered with Communities in Schools Federal Way-Highline to serve the hygiene needs of students and families attending the Federal way and Highline School Districts. Kacie Washington, Operations & Program Director visited our office to pick up the kits. 

The mission of CIS is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. More information here at their website https://federalwayhighline.ciswa.org/ 

The students who received our free of cost hygiene items are were primarily from the 98003 zip code and qualify for free and reduced lunches in schools. Of the students served, 32.3% identify as Black/African American, 26.8% identify as Hispanic/Latino, 6.2% identify as Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander.
