Now Hiring: Director of Development
Essentials First seeks a Director of Development with the skills and experience to grow and sustain the financial resources that undergird our organization’s programs and operations. The ideal candidate will have ample experience with both grants and individual donor relationship management, as well as the cultivation of multi-dimensional community and organizational partnerships. The Fundraising Lead facilitates the funding of Essentials First’s programs and administration.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies: Create and execute fundraising plans across multiple channels, including major gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, events, and online giving.
Coordinate Grant Writing Strategies: Work with the grant writer to ensure that grant proposals are aligned with fund development strategies
Cultivate and Manage Donor Relationships: Build and sustain strong, meaningful relationships with high-net-worth donors, ensuring their long-term engagement and retention.
Expand Corporate and Foundation Support: Identify, approach, and secure new corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and strategic partnerships.
Oversee Campaigns and Events: Lead the design and execution of donor recognition programs, and fundraising events.
Align with Organizational Strategy: Collaborate closely with the executive team to ensure development activities align with the nonprofit’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
Report and Analyze: Provide regular updates on fundraising performance, analyze results, and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in non-profit or humanitarian fundraising
Ability to work collaboratively in a team with leadership from other areas of the organization while maintaining independent workflow
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Private foundation and major grant management experience
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
Excellent technology and data management skills
Ability to implement and sustain systems
Fundraising strategy and organizational budgeting experience
Salary and Benefits:
$60,000-70,000 annual salary DOE
Full-time, non-exempt salary position
